Colin Jost is fine with a little lip lock between friends!

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight for an interview published Thursday, July 10, the Saturday Night Live star shared his thoughts on wife Scarlett Johansson's recent red-carpet kisses with her Jurassic World Rebirth costar Jonathan Bailey, which have set the internet ablaze.

"I think it's going to be okay. Jonathan is an out gay man. It didn't seem like the biggest threat," said Jost, 43. "People really blow it out of proportion when someone kisses their friend hello."

At the London premiere of Jurassic World Rebirth on June 16, Johansson, 40, and Bailey, 37, were spotted sharing a smooch. One week later, the pair pecked each other once more at the New York City premiere.

"I believe in being able to show love in all different ways. And if you can't kiss your friends ... life's too short not to," Bailey told ET at the time.

In his more recent interview with ET, Jost noted how "in Jurassic Park terms, the attack always comes from the raptor you never thought was there."

"Of all the threats out there, I wasn't thinking it was Jonathan," he quipped.

But it does beg the question: "Jonathan and I, at the red carpet, we were like, 'I guess we have to kiss now? Is that what happens? Close the loop?' " Jost joked.

When Today co-host Craig Melvin described Bailey as “attractive" during a June 25 interview, Johansson responded, “Yeah, you said it!”

Asked about her public displays of affection with the Wicked star, the two-time Academy Award nominee said, “We’re just friendly people … I’ve got a lot of love to give.”

And there's no smooch shortage between Johansson and Jost, who were snapped sharing a kiss in May at the Cannes Film Festival during a celebratory moment as she premiered her feature-film directorial debut Eleanor the Great.

As mercenary Zora Bennett, Johansson leads a dangerous expedition in Jurassic World Rebirth, building a rapport with Bailey's character, super-smart paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis.

The Marriage Story actress recently told PEOPLE that Zora is "taken by Henry's passion and kindness," and finds his "enthusiasm" to be "very charming."

Bailey called his dinosaur-expert character "so tightly wound," adding that he "picks up on" the fact that Zora is "emotionally intelligent" and "incredibly great at placating situations."

"I think she reads him really well from the get-go," the Bridgerton star told PEOPLE. "They're both as passionate in very different ways about what they do and about their lives, and I think they click in that way, as do all the characters."
